Heed The Call of Fire {Herd Meeting} « Thread Started on Nov 6, 2009, 1:52pm »
Dogstar
The world had changed so much in a year. My children were yearlings, I was a year older, my mate was a year older and still gorgeous, my new Beta stallion was doing well. The only thing that hadn't really changed was the Inferno. it was still hot, and smelled of the sulfur and heated rock beneath the land. Toxin had a chance to get used to the lands and the foals had figured out where much of the dangers lay. I smiled to myself perhaps it was time to talk with my herd.
Climbing a rise I looked out over the Inferno, then rearing up I focused my energy on the fire beneath the grounds and drew it up in a huge wave. The column of fire demanded their prescence as quickly as possible. I parted my maw and sent a scream echoing over my homelands, they would hear me, no matter where they were. Coming back to the ground the column of fire flared and fell back into the ground shaking the land a little. if the herd was smart they com with haste, I could be rather impatient at times...and Cissa knew it, so did Hrar and Letty. They were smart kids.
Hrar
Grazing on the grass not too far from Letty I threw my crown up as the lands rumbled a little. looking toward the heart of the Inferno I saw the column of fire and heard my father's echoing scream. He didn't sound to pleased. I took a few last bites and then looked to my twin. "Make haste Letty, Father's called for our prescence." Then I spun from my spot and took off at a gallop. Racing across the ground toward my father I crested a hill and then came to an almost dead halt and faced my father. "Greetings Father. What a beautiful day don't you think?" Then I fell silent and surveyed him.
He was so handsome up on that rise, and one day, when I was older, I would look just like that. Standing down the rise from him I mimicked his stance and looked for the others' appearances with him. I was learning my trade from the best. But I was still just a curios stud colt, what could father want to speak to us about?

Toxin had been up all night and the loud calls of DS awoke him. The night had been unkind but now daylight brought something amiss as well. He threw aside his worries as he located where DS must have been calling from. He shook the sleep from his head and wondered if he had time to grab something to eat and decided against it. DS wouldn’t call like this if he wasn’t serious and Toxin knew just how antsy and tense he could get when made to wait. He heaved a sigh, shook his large head once more and took running in the direction I presumed DS was calling from. Luckily Toxin hadn’t been too far away from DS in the first place, and as soon as the stallion came into sight Toxin slowed as gracefully as his bulky, fatigued muscles would allow. Once at a full stop he eyed both the lead stallion and his son, whose stance was a mirror image of his father’s.
“Greeting, DS, Hrar,” Toxin said dipping his head to each of them as he spoke, “what brings you to call us here so DS?”

Well, a few minutes after he'd called he watched his son approach. A wide smile crossed his maw as the colt spoke to him. Greetings Father. What a beautiful day don't you think? DS chuckled and nudged the colt a little as he heard the approach of another. Looking up, he spotted Toxin and smiled. The beta stallion knew to come quickly. That was a good sign. The Lead's auds flicked as he heard the Beta's words as well. Greeting, DS, Hrar, what brings you to call us here so DS? returning the dip of the painted stud's head DS looked about for Letty and Cissa. He would give them a few moments to show up, but he answered Tox's question. As you may have noticed, our herd is very small, as are all of them, we need to go out and find members." The colt watched his father and turned to look as Toxin came up. Hrar always had a liking for the big painted stallion. The colt flashed the Beta a huge smile and then cast his gaze about the land, where was Letty? And where was his mother? Daddy wouldn't like that...
